We strive to be the most sustainable choice in logistics equipment
Sustainability has guided Cowin Global from the very beginning. By investing in clean energy and responsible practices, we aim to deliver solutions that benefit our customers, communities and the planet.
“Decarbonisation demands action. We are cutting emissions across our operations and supply chain, investing in clean energy and holding ourselves accountable. Progress will be measurable, consistent, and enduring.”
Hortense Hallé-Yang, Head of Sustainability
Introduction
At Cowin Global, sustainability is not an add-on—it’s embedded in our DNA. From design and sourcing to manufacturing, transportation, and end-of-life management, we are committed to reducing our environmental footprint and enhancing social responsibility across our entire value chain. Our goal is clear: achieve 100% renewable electricity and carbon neutrality for our direct operations (Scopes 1 & 2) by 2035. Meanwhile, our near-term target was validated by SBTi: to reduce absolute scope 1&2 GHG emissions 42% by 2030 from a 2023 base year, and to measure and reduce scope 3 emissions. Read more >

Our Environmental Journey
We are taking measurable action to decarbonise our operations and products.
Carbon Accounting: We have calculated our corporate carbon footprint (following the GHG protocol) and the lifecycle footprint (LCA) of our products, providing a clear baseline to track progress. Summary data is available in our Sustainability Report.
Solar Energy Leadership: In 2024, we inaugurated a 1,000 kW solar rooftop installation, a major first step towards our decarbonisation goals.
Circular Economy in Action: Our dedicated maintenance teams significantly extend the operational lifespan of logistics equipment. Through repair, reprocessing, and a proprietary traceability system, we keep products and materials in use for as long as possible.
Social Responsibility & Well-Being
Our people are our greatest asset, and their safety, development, and well-being are our top priority.
Safety First: As a manufacturing organisation, we prioritise the health and safety of our operators above all else. 100% of our operators receive annual safety training, and we are certified to ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety.
Caring for Our Teams: We invest in automation not just for efficiency, but to eliminate strenuous tasks and create a safer, healthier workplace.
A Culture of Openness: From annual employee satisfaction surveys to comprehensive training programs and community support initiatives, we foster a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment for all.

Governance & Ethics
Our commitment is structured, verified, and integrated into our core business practices.
Dedicated ESG Leadership: A dedicated group-level sustainability team works with management and local champions to drive our agenda forward.
Recognised Excellence: We are proud to hold a 2025 EcoVadis Bronze medal, placing us among the top 35% of all companies assessed.
Certified Management: Our integrated management system is certified to ISO standards, ensuring rigorous processes and continuous improvement.
Transparent Reporting: Our annual Sustainability Report is third-party verified.
Ethical Supply Chains: We hold our partners to the same high standards. In priority locations, 100% of key suppliers are evaluated annually on sustainability criteria and sign our Code of Conduct.
AIMING FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
UN Sustainable Development Goals
We have identified key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that align closely with our operations and values, including Goal 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), Goal 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) and Goal 13 (Climate Action). Below, we provide a brief overview of how our efforts contribute to these objectives.

Work & growth
- Clear internal policies and supplier code of conduct prohibit employment practices that violate human rights.
- Fair and inclusive hiring ensures equal opportunities, including for people with disabilities or various origins.
- Workplace safety is a top priority, with strict protocols in place. General Managers have quantitative safety performance indicators with financial consequences.
- 88% of team members participated in training in 2025.
- 86% retention rate globally, with over half of the China team having more than 10 years of service.

Consumption & production
- Optimised product designs reduce material consumption without compromising quality.
- Electroplating processes are strictly controlled to eliminate chemical risks.
- 92% of our waste is diverted from disposal.
- Maintenance of our clients’ fleets is an integral part of our business model, thus extending product lifespan.
- Innovation and partnerships enable repurposing, repairing, dismantling and recycling.

Climate action
- Corporate carbon footprint is calculated annually and product LCA periodically.
- A decarbonisation plan is in place, targeting operational carbon neutrality by 2035.
- Climate risks are evaluated with corresponding adaptation measures.
- Corporate emissions were halved (-53%) in 2025 primarily due to the adoption of renewable energy.
- Cowin achieved a decoupling of production levels from carbon emissions, with production rising while total emissions fell.
