We all know that renewable energy is one of the best ways to cut down on carbon emissions. Back in late 2023, everything lined up for us – the tech was ready, and the local regulations were on our side. So, we decided to go for it. By October 2024, we had finished installing a 1,000 kW solar setup on the roof of our own factory.
Now that we’ve looked at the numbers for 2025, it’s clear that it was a great move. In fact, the results are even better than we hoped. The panels produced 1,330,000 kWh of clean electricity, which is 8% above our original estimates. This shift has allowed us to avoid 890 tonnes of CO2 (Scope 1 & 2), making a real dent in our environmental footprint.

The financial side is equally impressive. Our factory consumed 77% of the power generated, which cut our electricity bill by 40%. This contributed to approximately €125,000 in savings, while selling the remaining 23% back to the grid. With these results, the whole project is on track to pay for itself in just three years.
We’ll be looking to expand as soon as the rules allow. It just makes sense – both for the climate and for our bottom line. This is a big part of our roadmap toward decarbonisation, and you can read more about that in our upcoming 2025 Sustainability Report.
